There is lots to do nearby and with the local knowledge of Donald and Nicky, who are keen walkers and canoeists, you could get the most out of the area and enjoy walking, canoeing, fishing, skiing, cycling and diving.
There is a lovely walk through Donald's croft to the shore front of Loch Linnhe. You can walk all the way to Corpach along the shore, or if the tide is out, walk out to the island and back along the river at the estuary.
There is the Caledonian canal with Neptune's staircase within walking distance, Nevis range with the gondola and there is a treetop climbing course. You could take a ride on the steam train to Mallaig which has spectacular views of the area that was used for the filming of Harry Potter.
The area is steeped in history from the Jacobite uprising to the training of the commandos: it all happened in the Lochaber area. Donald has a great knowledge of the local history and is happy to whet your appetite for things to see and explore.
There are plenty of places to eat and have a few drinks and some places have live music. The Lochy Bar, the Moorings Hotel, and Trade Winds Bar are within walking distance, while the Achintee Inn is at the start of the Ben Nevis footpath and a great place for food and a pint after your walk up the Ben.
